the
offcuts

You don’t need to be a hero.
You need a decent axe, a vague sense of direction, and the ability to ignore impending doom with style.

This Autumn, the Offcuts will head for Zorn Uval, armed with reckless determination, too much self-confidence, and strong opinions.

The Offcuts, Dwarf adventurers

Who are the
offcuts?

For centuries, the legendary dwarven city of Zorn Uval remained lost to time, hidden behind thick mists, treacherous currents, and a series of wildly optimistic maps.

Then one day, the famed adventurer Loki Blackleg, known for finding things he never meant to, shipwrecked on Moss Island and swore that he had seen the ruins of Zorn Uval.

The Thunderbeard clan, rightful heirs to the lost city, did what any reasonable dwarves would do: throw mountains of gold at a long series of gloriously failed expeditions.
Uncrossable tides. Cursed fogs. Disappearing ships.
Official records spoke of “navigational mishaps.” The taverns just laughed.

Eventually, all that remained was battered pride and very empty coffers.

Most gave up.

Most.

Thugni Olafsson, heir to the Thunderbeards, impulsive of spirit and famously allergic to second thoughts, stole his father’s boat, dragged along the ever-grumbling Ori Grimgaze, and set sail at dawn.

Destination: Moss Island.
They discovered a stowaway only a few miles in: Olga, Thugni’s little daughter and proud heiress to his recklessness.

As the journey unfolded, the trio grew. They were joined by Borik the Hermit, who spoke rarely but drank regularly, Bardin the Sentinel, a specialist in watching the inevitable unfold and Kragmir the Crowseer, who spoke to the crows. The crows answered. Sometimes.

Thus were born The Offcuts ("forge scraps"): not the finest or best-trained, but undoubtedly the most stubborn.

A blunt handful of dwarves hurled at the belly of legend, chasing a fog-shrouded goal with the ironclad belief that destiny must be claimed, preferably by shouting at it. Eager to know more? Click here!

Dwarves don't do mass production, so act fast!

Dwarves are short, but their tempers—and stock—run out quickly.

the benefits of
early access

Early Access is for the brave, the prepared, and those who know that good things come to those who don’t wait.
For one week only, 100 bundles will ship out immediately. No preorders. No delays. Just a box full of Dwarfs straight to your doorstep.

After that, we enter the Made to Order phase. You can still join the adventure, of course… you’ll just need to be a bit more patient. And possibly explain to your shelf why it’s still empty.

Oh, and the Early Access comes with a secret bonus miniature.
No, we won’t tell you what it is. Yes, it’s dwarf-shaped.
And yes, you’ll want it.

Early Access is coming Fall 2025, marking not just a new chapter for Thugni and his fellow adventurers, but also for Durgin Paint Forge itself.
This will be our very first product launch not tied to a crowdfunding campaign. A bold move. A risky one. Possibly brilliant. (We’ll find out together.)
As mentioned, only 100 bundles will be available for immediate shipping, so if you haven’t already, sign up for the mailing list. That way, you won’t miss the start of the Early Access window, and you’ll get tasty updates and behind-the-scenes news from deep within the forges of Kazhuk Izril.

Because when legend calls, you don’t wait around polishing your axe.
You grab your gear, beard up, and say:

“Aye. I was there when the Offcuts set out.”

meet the Offcuts!

You’ve heard the legends (or the shouting). Now it’s time to meet the actual dwarves.
Each Offcut comes with its own backstory, habits and deeply questionable opinions.
This is your official, slightly chaotic guide to Kazhuk Izril’s least expected adventuring party.

Proceed with curiosity. And maybe a snack. They get grumpy.

Thugni Olafsson

“If fate wanted a challenge, it should’ve picked someone else. I don’t lose, I just haven’t won yet.”

Some dwarves chase glory. Thugni expects it to show up at the tavern and buy him a drink.
He’s a beard with ambition, a walking saga in progress, and the only dwarf alive to commission a statue of himself before the quest even began. Modesty is for elves.
He’s rich, reckless, and absolutely certain this is going to work. Probably.
